STEALTH GET FIRST REGULAR SEASON WIN AS THEY BEAT THE WOLVES 28-6

Short several players, including most of their lineman, the Stealth still managed to get the offense clicking, scoring 4 touchdowns through the air. An injury for the Wolves early in the second half stopped the game for about 45 minutes. Once the game resumed, the running clock was put in play to help speed up the game. To get out healthy and make the long road trip home, the Stealth played good ball control football to run the clock out. The Stealth will host the defending GLFL Champion Muskegon Mustangs (4-0) next week at Dansville HS @ 6:00pm.

Detroit, MI – The Capital City Stealth (0-3) were driving down the field with seconds left on the clock for the game winning score. But a costly turnover entering the redzone sealed the win for the Hurricanes (1-3) as they beat the Stealth 14-13. It was deja vu for the Stealth (week one vs. the Fury) as the difference in the game was two big plays by the Hurricanes and a missed extra point for the Stealth. The Stealth outgained the Hurricanes but fell short on the scoreboard. This coming weekend the Stealth have a much needed bye week. They will take this time to get guys healthy and refocus the the second half of the season. The Stealth take the field again on July 9, when they travel to Grayling to play the Northern Michigan Wolves (1-3). STEALTH DROP GAME AGAINST HAVOC 17-8 Dansville, MI – For the second week in a row, the Stealth struggle on offense and drop a game to the Havoc 17-8. The Stealth (0-2) found it tough going against the Havoc (1-0) this week as they looked to get back on their winning ways.

There were plenty of chances to take control of the game, but turnovers and penalties hurt the Stealth. The Stealth will regroup and travel to Detroit next weekend to play the Michigan Hurricanes (0-3). STEALTH OPEN REGULAR SEASON WITH TOUGH LOSS TO THE FURY 20-12 Flint, MI – The Stealth (0-1) traveled to Flint this weekend to play the Flint Fury (1-1). After a perfect preseason, the Stealth played flat in the second half against the Fury losing 20-12. Though the Stealth outgained the Fury by a large marging on offense, the Fury had 2 big plays that change the game for them. The Stealth host the Havoc next weekend at Dansville HS @ 6:00pm. STEALTH SHUT OUT THE THUNDER 34-0, IMPROVE TO 2-0 ON THE PRESEASON Allendale, MI – The Capital City Stealth traveled to Grand Rapids to play the Thunder on May 14. In a match up that has seen some close games over the years, the Stealth took total control minutes into the game and never looked back. For the second week in a row, the Stealth defense dominated the game, holding their opponent scoreless as they cruised to a 34-0 victory.

The Stealth defense got the scoring going with a 70 interception return for a touchdown by Ray Duncan on the Thunders first possession to start the game. After the Thunders second drive to start the game, the Stealth offense finally got the ball. They wasted no time driving down the field to put another touchdown on the board on a 1 yard run by Brandon Dunn. Just like that, the Stealth were up 14-0. On the kickoff following Dunn's touchdown run, the Stealth recovered the ball in the endzone for what should have been another touchdown, but the officials called the ball dead as it crossed the goal line stopping the play. The officials would later acknowledge the blown call on the play. The second quarter didn't see any scoring take place, but those in attendance seen the Stealth defense punish the Thunder on just about every play from scrimmage. The score at half-time was 14-0. In the second half, the Stealth continued their outstanding play on both sides of the ball.

Offensively, the Stealth put up three more scores. One came in third quarter as Brandon Dunn scored his second touchdown of the game on a 2 yard run up the middle. Two point conversion was no good, making the score 20-0. In the fourth quarter, quarterback Jordan Martin connected with Nick Bigelow on a 29 yard touchdown pass. Two point conversion was no good. Late in the quarter, Jordan Taylor would add a touchdown of his own on a 17 yard run right up the middle of the field. Jordan Martin connected with Dalorean Strickland on a 3 yard pass for the two point conversion, making the final score 34-0. The offense was led by DJ Combs with 9 carries for 79 yards. Jordan Martin was 3 of 5 for 73 yards and 1 touchdown. BJ Foy had 2 receptions for 63 yards. The defense had 5 turnovers in the game. Ray Duncan, Brandon Dunn, Leroy Green and Demetrius Addison each had an interception and Dunn also had a fumble recovery. Dunn, Addison and Jameel Cooper each had 6 tackles in the game.

Damarco Bisbee had 1.5 sacks and 2 tackles. This week, the Stealth will be hosting a double header event. The first game will see the Washtenaw County Bobcats play the Kalamazoo Grizzlies @ 2:00pm. Then theStealth will host the Michigan Lightning @ 6:00pm. Both games will be played at Olivet High School, 255 First St, Olivet, MI 49026. Gates open at 1:00 pm Preseason Admission Prices: $5.00 - 14 & older : Free - Ages 13 and under STEALTH OPEN PRESEASON WITH 50-0 WIN OVER THE KALAMAZOO GRIZZLIES Olivet, MI – The Capital City Stealth kicked off the 2016 season with a convincing 50-0 win over the Kalamazoo Grizzlies. The Grizzlies played hard throughout the game, especially in the first quarter, as the Stealth got off to a slow start. The Stealth started the scoring late in the first quarter with a 13 yard touchdown pass from Reggie Duncan to Deshawn Thompson. Once the second quarter got going, the Stealth offense caught fire and were nearly impossible to stop.

Deshawn Thompson caught 2 more touchdown passes (13 yards and 14 yards) from Jake Hart. Jordan Taylor also snagged a 3 yard touchdown pass from Hart. Hart went 7 of 10 passing for 76 yards and 3 touchdowns. DJ Combs added a 48 yard touchdown run and late in the game Duncan added a 8 yard touchdown run of his own. Prior to the game, the Stealth defense came out of the locker room determined to shut the Grizzlies down and they did just that. The defense was led by newcomer Ryan Grover with 2 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and relentless pressure on the Grizzlies quarterback all game. BJ Foy intercepted a poorly thrown ball and scampered 90 yards for a defensive touchdown. Reggie Duncan and Demetrius Addison each had an interception of their own. Damarco Bisbee also had a fumble recovery late in the game. Brandon Dunn led all tacklers with 5 tackles and 2 assist. The next Stealth game will be this Saturday, May 14 as the Stealth travel to Grand Rapids to play the Grand Rapids Thunder.

The Stealth are pleased to announced that they will be hosting their preseason games at Olivet High School on May 7 and May 21. They may also be playing there on May 14, but the game is tentatively scheduled to be played in Grand Rapids. The home preseason games are slated to be part of a double header event, similar to the double header events the Stealth hosted in both 2013 & 2014 in Olivet. To see the teams scheduled for these games, please visit our schedule page. Game times are in the works and will be posted once they are finalized. The Stealth are also pleased to announce that their home field for the regular season is Dansville High School. The Stealth played their 2014 season in Dansville and are excited to return there for the 2016 season.
