fc barcelona hoodie ebay Initial impressions on Columbia's OutDry EX Gold Hooded Down Jacket. These are my initial impressions of Columbia's Outdry EX Gold Hooded Down Jacket...however, I intend on checking back later with an updated review after putting it through the wringer. Though a bit lengthy, I hope this review is helpful. I purchased the "Black," now described as "Dark Charcoal" color. It is medium gray, at best. I chose this coloration, merely because I did not want the seam banding to be a contrasting color as… Warm and lightweight jacket, it has a good quality construction, durability, and the price is not high. Before starting this review I must mention I’m from Chile and my main language is Spanish, so feel free to correct my English and ask me for a better explanation if is necessary.

I bought this down jacket three years ago, so this is not the last version of the Marmot Quasar Jacket. Anyway I will compare both describing their pros and cons. The features of my jacket are: 800 fill goose down Pertex… Nice jacket, solid construction, good fill on the down. Got mine on sale on a Black Friday doorbuster so the price can't be beat. Large inside vest pocket for self packing is nice for keeping largish items warm — I like to go out and get a burger at Five Guys when walking my dog and then take it home for dinner (dog and burger). Also has a drawstring to keep air seal around waist/hips. I could quibble about lack of a drawstring on the hood, but many jacket doesn't have that either. Great all around jacket, lightweight and waterproof. Keeps me warm and cozy while out hiking on the back trails of North Carolina. Fits very well and moves with my body. Camping in 24 degree weather with a fairly good frost by morning, keeps me warm and kept the wind at bay. I would recommend to anyone in need of a great jacket.

Super light at only 180g for a men's large. With 900 FP down it is also very warm. Very packable, compresses to the size of a softball. Gives me the opportunity to leave much heavier mid layers at home. Fit and comfort are great, half zipper allows easy putting on and taking off. Elastic on cuffs and drawstring on the waist keeps the cold drafts out. There is no drawstring on the hood, but it is well fitting and keeps the warmth in. A bit pricey, but aren't all lightweight packable down jackets? Light, foldable, relatively warm. Great lightweight cool looking down. Folds pretty small into its own pocket. Problem is, like all down products, don't get it wet. I was soaked once in a sudden thunderstorm, wasn't pleasant. A bit expensive, but well worth it. The Rab Neutrino Endurance Jacket — warmer than Luke Skywalker sleeping in tauntaun guts (but without the smell). I bought my Rab Neutrino Endurance Jacket as I was moving from the UK to Minnesota in the US.

I balked at the price but I don't regret it for a second as the first winter I moved over we were getting temps of -22°C. Even with a thin fleece on underneath this kept me plenty warm. The fit is good. I have long arms and the sleeves are great. It is also tapered in the back to cover… Overall this is a decent jacket, but it's not as warm as some other jackets out there. The Ultralight is a sized down alternative to the classic Down Sweater. Coming in at just under 300 grams it's one of the lightest weight insulation pieces on the market. I've had mine for over two years now, and it's seen its fair share of use. The water resistance is good, and it takes an impressive beating for a ultralight down jacket. It also packs down to about the size and shape of a 1L Nalgene, which… Want to know what to pack for a backpacking trip? There are all sorts of lists available. But there are also a lot of styles of backpacking out there. An ultra-lightweight backpacker isn’t going to carry the same gear that I take on trips with my preschooler!

To give you an idea of what gear you need to pack for backpacking (and how much space it is going to take up in your backpack), here are 7 photos from real backpackers showing what’s in their packs. Brewbooks was able to shave weight and space from his pack by using a bivy bag + tarp setup instead of a tent. He could have saved more weight/space by repacking the big canister of electrolytes and using a Kindle instead of taking along two big books. Image credit: “Yosemite Camping Gear” (CC BY-NC 2.0) by phoenixar Note that this guy brought a quilt instead of a sleeping bag – a risky move if it were to get cold at night! It also means a much bulkier pack, but that isn’t too much of an issue when it is just for a 1 night trip.
