The Radford City Police Department is investigating a report of a robbery that occurred on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Tyler Avenue and Grove Avenue. Two male victims report that they were approached by two Hispanic males, one of which displayed a firearm and demanded money from the victims. The victims refused to hand over anything and the suspects then fled on foot, traveling West on Grove Avenue. No property was taken and no one was injured. One suspect is described as 5’8” – 5’10” tall, average build, black hair, and was last seen wearing a grey hoodie and dark pants. The second suspect is described as 5’9” – 5’11” tall, average build, black hair, and was last seen wearing a grey hoodie or white t-shirt and dark pants. This case is currently under investigation and no further information will be released at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the Radford Police Department at 540-731-3624. The win was the 1,500th in program history, and also the Demon Deacons' (1-0) sixth-straight in a season-opener. John Collins posted his first-career double-double, finishing with career-highs of 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting and 12 rebounds in 23 minutes of action. Fellow sophomore Bryant Crawford added 14 points and eight assists, while Keyshawn Woods chipped in with 14 points in his Deacon debut after sitting out the 2015-16 season. The Deacs scored the first seven points of the contest and the Highlanders (0-1) were unable to cut the margin to fewer than six points in the final 32 minutes of the game. Wake Forest took a 36-28 advantage into the break before Radford scored the first bucket of the second half. Dinos Mitoglou, Collins and Doral Moore answered by combining on an 11-2 run to extend the lead (47-32) into double digits for good. The Deacs made their last seven field-goal attempts of the game to push the lead over 20 points, as Wake Forest finished the day 32-of-65 (49.2 percent) from the floor.

Mitoglou ended the game with nine points and six boards, while Moore had six points, three rebounds and three blocks and Brandon Childress tallied five points and five assists.

Doral Moore and John Collins each had three, Dinos Mitoglou had two, and Bryant Crawford and Austin Arians added one apiece. The last time the Deacons recorded 10 blocks in a game was on Nov. 30, 2015 at Rutgers. • The Deacs will wrap up their two--game homestand on Sunday as they play host to Bucknell at 2 p.m. on ACC Network Extra. • Wake Forest has won all seven previous meetings against the Bison, including each of the last two seasons.
