Originally published on Four PinsWe already got big homie A. Wang lending his talents to a collaboration with H&M and now we got Helmut Lang's creative director Alexandre Plokhov and Uniqlo getting in bed together for a completely sweat-based collection. The line, set to hit the Japanese fashion giant on September 22, features something for everyone, literally: Unisex, women's and men's items are all included and every single piece is either black or grey. Ahhhh, yes, that's the good stuff. Just how we like it. We've conveniently aggregated some of the men's highlights from the pretty extensive 21 piece collection for your viewing pleasure above.Guys, there's A LOT to like here, from the bombers (one with huge patch-flap pockets, another with a coach's jacket-like drawstring waist), to the basic cuffed sweatpants for those of you scrubs out there who somehow don't have a pair yet. And then there's the piéce de résistance: a long, double-zippered hoodie that looks jumped off Rick Owens' runway.

Oh, and what's that? Yep, everything priced in what I like to call "The Uniqlo Zone," ranging from $19.90 to $59.90. Your Daily Dose of Highsnobiety Receive the best in sneakers, fashion and street culture straight to your inbox! There are some men who will not want to wear the bright greens, pinks, and sky blues that have been brightening spring's runways. For them, there's Cloak, where designer Alexandre Plokhov combines a penchant for detail with a relentlessly somber color palette. For spring, he pretty much stuck to basic black, but kept things interesting by adding some new shapes, including a priest's cassock and pleated Zouave trousers.

Plokhov wasn't afraid to take things to extremes—an ensemble of a black hooded poncho, guardsman shirt, and skinny jeans looked like the Grim Reaper about to go to Burning Man—and his gambles mostly paid off. In outfits like a well-tailored black cotton-and-cashmere cardigan paired with a dark-gray sleeveless hoodie, he showed the sexier, grown-up side of Goth.Intricate zippers and folds in a black tailcoat and cotton flight suit showcased Plokhov's attention to detail, but the occasional half-hearted stab at color—a light-blue V-neck under a gray cotton-cashmere sleeveless hoodie, for example—only served to prove that he's wise to adhere to the darker end of the spectrum. The odd detour aside, though, Plokhov successfully took some risks while staying true to his form.If the enthusiastic turnout at his show was any indication, Alexandre Plokhov seemingly has le tout New York willing him on. It's not hard to see why. Even though the collection he showed comprised a briskly edited 23 looks, Plokhov already has a clear fashion signature.

Citing his inspirations as the WWI ace Baron von Richthofen and the polar explorer Ernest Shackleton, Plokhov claimed backstage that he was drawn to "beautiful losers," adventurers who tried their utmost but didn't quite attain their goal. It's a rare man who doesn't relate to that. So there was poignancy as well as strength in the clothes Plokhov showed.Opening with a cloak in Harris tweed, he paraded out military-influenced items such as hussar jackets in dyed cotton canvas or distressed leather, and a peacoat, again in cotton twill or leather. Alongside came the kind of sturdy clothes a polar explorer might have been inclined toward a century ago: a parka trimmed in raccoon, and a pair of pleated trousers in a Harris tweed substantial enough to keep arctic winds at bay. The marcelled hair of the models was a romantically inclined retro touch, but Plokhov's version of formal wear—a black fleece hoodie with tuxedo trousers in sheared corduroy, a black leather topcoat with wool lapel—effortlessly whipped the past into the future.
