Been wearing it with just one layer underneath, but I'll probably add a fleece or hoodie underneath as the weather gets colder. Plus, it's packable so it stuffs into its own pocket for easy storage in a backpack or messenger bag. Gonna be perfect for taking to concerts etc. Had a minor problem with the item originally, customer service was 100% on the ball as always. I was in need of a winter coat, and always liked the look of a North Face so when I saw this coat on sale I thought i would give it a try. Most of the reviews said that the coat runs a little big so you should size down. I generally wear an XL, and was reluctant to size down for fear of the coat being too snug. In any event i followed the reviews and ordered a Large. The coat fits great! Not too snug, or,too short in the sleeves. It fits close to the body, which helps keep the winter chill out. By the way, the coat is very thin. Much thinner than you would expect for a winter coat, but it really keeps you warm. We had sub 30 degree weather last week and i did not feel a thing walking to work.

Clearly North Face has developed some new technology that reduces the bulkiness but maintans the warmth. I bought this for my fiance for Christmas and he absolutely loves it! It works really well in bitter cold weather and for some reason, on days that you may only need a sweatshirt, it keeps you comfortable without getting too warm. I'd also recommend: Columbia I bought this for my son to go back to school, he normally wears brands like Quiksilver, but he loves this new jacket and can't wait until it is cold enough to wear every day. I bought this for my BF and he absolutely loves it! It is so light yet super warm. We live in the midwest, were it is currently 14 degrees and he stays warm. Originally I ordered him a L, but it was too big. I had to return it for a Medium, the spec definitely runs big!
