I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. I grew up in North Omaha and I attended Belvedere, Franklin, Miller Park and Crestridge elementary schools due to my family relocating to different areas of Omaha when I was young. Some schools, like Franklin Elementary (which was my absolute favorite) only offered up to third grade at the time. I graduated from McMillan Junior High and Omaha North High School. After high school, I applied and was accepted into Creighton University and University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).

I decided to attend UNO due to being accepted into the Goodrich Scholarship program. I've had several life changing experiences - 2nd on the list occurred during grad school I graduated from UNO in 2003 with a Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) and after some time in Atlanta and Norway, returned to Omaha in 2008 to pursue a Masters in MIS. During my final semester in the Masters in MIS program, I participated as a project manager/scrum master during the development of a web application for the organization Project Harmony. My experience working on this project helped to solidify my passion for working to improve the lives of others through technology. I've made it my personal mission to do my part to build my community by helping people My experience at UNO has led me down the path to become a builder of people and of my community. Since 2010, I have been working to find ways to marry my passion with my career. While a Business Development Specialist for Gavilon in 2010, I became the lead for a group called the GIVE Committee.

Our group was tasked with implementing community engagement initiatives for employees through food drives, clothing drives, community house painting projects, Habitat for Humanity builds and various other initiatives. I left Gavilon in 2012 to become a consultant for Sogeti. While I enjoyed client project work including the development of a customized SharePoint solution to query data from an external source and update an internal SharePoint list, I reached the greatest levels of satisfaction while coordinating community outreach efforts for employees. We participated in Habitat builds, food drives and holiday giving drives. At the end of 2013, I left Sogeti to start Interface: The Web School in partnership with Mark Hasebroock, Beth Engel, Jerod Santo, Jake Stutzman and Seth Carlson. Interface has been the ultimate expression of my desire to have a job that I absolutely LOVE + give back to the community. Since starting Interface, I have been working on creative ways to be involved in and engage the community, develop relationships with professionals at all levels including developers, testers, CIOs and CEOs at companies of all different sizes and revenues.
