First things first, prep your tube. Start by putting a doubled up piece of wax paper over the end, and tightly tape the edges down on the tube. b5 s4 hoodieThen you want to cover the tube with sheets of the wax paper the entire way down. thrasher tie dye hoodie purpleTry to keep all of this as flat as possible. This will help it from sticking to the tube as it dries.3. Pull one leg over the tube, and pin the crotch seams together as you can. You want to keep the leg you are painting as flat as possible or the bumps will show when you paint it. (I am going to keep repeating this because it’s important or you will get splotchy tights as a result)

4. Next, shove the leg that is not on the tube in it. I am using an old roll of news print paper so it has a hole in the end where it would go on a roll. If you can not find a stopper for your tube, just pull it in the end and tape it all off like it’s no one’s business. The tighter you can get that leg in there, the better it will keep the other leg on the tube, and the less likely you are going to get any paint on where you don’t want it.5. Tape off the leg that you can not stuff in the tube. While I was still making my Vanellope cosplay, many people who I chatted about it with asked me "what the heck are you going to do for the hair candy?" That made me think that a tutorial for the candy wouldn't go un-welcomed. Plus making tutorials is really fun (though extremely labour-intensive OTL), and it's been over a year since I made my last one, so off to Photoshop it was!I had a lot of fun making this tutorial, and I'm hoping this will be able to help out all those aspiring Vanny cosplayers out there! I actually started making this quite a while before I finished my cosplay, but then I abandoned it for a bit, only finishing it off recently, since making tutorials is a lot of work, so you have to work on it in strides.

I'm hoping to do a lot more tutorials this year, so we'll see what happens.
