The place where we can dream, touch, learn something new about innovative gear solutions, and explore the latest apparel trends. According to the historians, the concept of "surf shop" was born in the early 1950s in California, when surfboard shapers felt they needed a proper store to sell their craft. Today, a great surf shop offers a broad range of products including surfboards, wetsuits, leashes, wax, traction pads, board bags, clothing, accessories, boardshorts, and cool t-shirts. More recently, surf shops have also become service providers, so that you can get access to surf rentals, stand-up paddleboard (SUP) tours, surfing lessons, surf yoga classes, and even photo and film productions.
Surf shop owners and employees are supposed to advise you on the best gear for specific needs, and also present you with alternatives for your initial preferences. Chanced on this spot for lunch and loved it. A warm welcome and prompt service were appreciated. The souvlaki was a really great dish! Friendly and efficient service makes this a spot we'd be happy to return to. Finally a decent place in Torquay. Glorious food...a must place for all visitors!!! Beautiful cafe and food to match We stopped in Torquay on our way through to angelsea and found this great little Cafe hidden amongst the surf shops. we were greeted by a friendly guy behind the coffee machine. It was quite late and we were looking for some lunch. Thankfully the kitchen was still open. My partner ordered an iced coffee which came out deconstructed with... Highly recommended if visiting Torquay, for breakfast, lunch, or simply a break from looking at the various surf store outlets.
Clearly family run, this is an extremely pleasant café with a healthy menu with a range of dishes with interesting twists. Service very friendly and efficient. Set behind the surf shops at Torquay this would be a great breakfast, brunch and lunch option when visiting the surf shop precinct. Traditional cafe fare with a twist. Small but varied menu. I had the vegan breakfast with additional poached egg and bacon. Smashed avo, delicious sour dough toast and nice addition of grilled lemon wedge. Being the most highly recommended place online in Torquay, we stopped briefly passing through the area. The Avocado Smash was epic, never had an Avocado Smash quite as good as this before. However, the burger we ordered came out on a black-coloured bun (it wasn't burnt, just the way it's made) which was not worth the $$ paid. This place is always great to visit. Family friendly even with Grandma's walker. Coffee is great and the smoothie of the day today is banana, mango& honey with icecream & fairy floss on top.
Menu has plenty of vegan options if that's your thing. My husband loves his coffee and said the coffee he got at Sticks and Stones was one of the best he has ever had. Thanks to the man at Billabong for recommending it to us. Stopped in on the way through Torquay. Friendly staff and delicious food and coffee to boot. The cafe has a vibrant and cosy atmosphere. It is located among all of the surf shops. The cook even made the time to come out and talk to us. To be honest it is a little bit pricey as are... This has changed hands for the worse. Price is out of the world for what you get Coffee is second rate for Torquay. Need to rethink people. “Coffee while walking the dog”My attitude has always been, if you fall flat on your face, at least you're moving forward. At Zak Surfboards we try and hold one of the biggest ranges of Secondhand Surfboards in Victoria.  All sorts of secondhand surfboards – from Longboards to Mini Mals, Retro shapes, Fish shapes & other Hybrids as well as a comprehensive range of performance shortboards.
