Denilson Silva (Deniart) | Wow, this is a difficult one. So many movies, so many monsters! I thought long and hard about this, and it was nearly Pinhead, but I’d have to pick The Werewolf from An American Werewolf in London. Werewolves were always my fave monster after watching the Groovie Goolies as a kid (Goolies is something else in UK Slang, btw!) So seeing the amazing transformation in the movie both blew my mind and scared me to death at the same time. They messed me up pretty good as a kid. They both still do, but they couldn’t be more different from each other. The Xenomorph is such a beautiful design, and the Thing is the only movie monster that ends up being scarier than what I anticipate. I guess it’s pretty clear; He’s the king of the monsters! Press Esc to cancel.I have been excited for the release of the Monsters University Blu-Ray Combo Pack since the very first time I saw the movie.  We were attending the Disney Social Media Moms Conference at Walt Disney World and were invited to a pre-screening.  I was instantly smitten with the prequel to one of my most favorite Disney titles, Monster Inc. I’ll just go ahead and tell you– I’ve actually had this movie pre-ordered for months now… even before they’d finalized the actual release date!

Needless to say, I am thrilled that October 29 {my mom’s birthday AND the highly anticipated release day} is just around the corner. To get ready, we’ve been doing all sorts of monster-y things around our house.  We’ve been playing the Monsters University world on Disney Infinity a lot.  We’ve read books about Mike and Sulley and made some crafts and sweet treats as well.  And, of course, we’ve watched Monsters Inc. a few times. I wanted to share one of my favorite Monsters University activities that we’ve created. Let me start by saying this is just as much fun to create as it is to play.  After a fun time of creating and crafting, you’re left with a cute game the whole family can enjoy. Ready to make your Monsters University Bowling Set?   We’re going to start by painting our pumpkin.  We decided to make our pumpkin look like Mike Wazowski.  Raileigh spent quite a long time in the grocery store choosing a pumpkin that she felt was the most Mike-shaped.  

You’ll want to coat the entire pumpkin in a good coat of lime green paint.  We actually added several coats of paint for ample coverage. Next, you’ll want to start forming Mike’s signature eyeball.  I just chose to freehand this.  Start with a rather large white circle.  Again, this took a few coats to completely cover the green underneath. When the white is dry, it’s time to pull out the blue paint.  Paint a smaller blue circle on top of your white circle.  This is the iris of Mike’s eye.  Once the blue has dried completely, add a black pupil on top of that. Your Mike pumpkin is complete. Now we’ll created our Sulley bowling pins.  You’ll need to print out three of the Sulley Water Bottle Label sheets.  If you haven’t already, download the Sulley water bottle labels here.  I actually just printed these out on regular old computer paper.  You can use that or cardstock– either is fine.  This will give you 12 labels, but you really only need 10.
