I explained that it was a recent fashion phenomenon, a new design collective that has stopped the industry short, become its new darling and turned on its head all the basic principles that fashion has set for itself as a commander of taste. It functions as a deeply reactive entity that rejects the ateliers of Paris with their fanciful ideas of what women should look like and responds instead to what a new generation of women already do look like. baymax hoodie disney store(Also, they sell DHL t-shirts for $330; you can request one from the de facto delivery service for $14.99.)parental advisory sweatshirt ebay It’s fantasy versus reality — kind of like comparing the show Sex and the City to Girls wherein Vetements is Girls: rooted in what’s real and true, whether good or bad, and not interested in the Galliano-esque suspension of disbelief and reverie of fiction.lamb of god zip hoodie
This isn’t actually problematic until you consider the implications of the house’s designer, Demna Gvasalia, accepting a position as the creative director of at one of the aforementioned ateliers, Balenciaga. Reviewers for some venerated publications — Vogue, The Times, Washington Post — have declared Vetements the house to breathe new life into fashion. It’s the industry’s pièce de résistance. But it’s not just a press toy. Luxury vendors who stock the collection — Net-A-Porter, Browns Fashion, Matches and so forth — indicate that it sells very, very well. Go ahead right now; try to order a pair of shoes. But here’s the thing: I don’t get the fanfare. You want to lose your shit over clothes that make you feel like 18th century royalty while you’re washing the dishes in real life, I totally get that. But to wear clothes that make you feel like you’re about to wash dishes? Where’s the grand illusion there? The clothes are not very practical, either, which is perhaps the cerebrally-perverse point of a collection that is responding to real life instead of creating its own world, but given how expensive they are (reconstructed Levi’s jeans range from $1,040 to $1,500), who are the people who are buying in?
Am I missing something? I do understand what the house is trying to do, and don’t doubt the talent — Gvasalia spent time at Margiela in the earlier aughts and those were glory days. Today, the deconstructed, reconstructed metaphor for an industry that is fledgling but trying to hold it together does not get lost on me. The reactive nature of the house and subsequent embracement by industry heavyweights is a sharp, promising turn in the direction of a more democratic fashion industry. Here, here to all that. But when you think of what we’re called by the naysayers — a manipulative beast that makes you feel less-than so that you’ll buy and become more-than — does Vetements support or counter that clause? Among shoppers, there have always been those who buy clothes (think Brunello Cucinelli, Loro Piana, the good quality stuff that hugs you) and those who buy energy (Saint Laurent is commodified “cool,” ditto that for Alexander Wang; Phoebe Philo sells you simplicity, a lack of complication but a healthy serving of complexity).
Those who make energy command insider respect, which trickles down to consumer curiosity and ultimately, consumption. This is the process that renders a price tag irrelevant, which is what makes a $750 Vetements sweatshirt, or $330 t-shirt “worth” the splurge. Those things aren’t just expensive activewear — they’re an excuse. A found form of validation. You want to wear a sweatshirt to fashion week because it’s cold? Only you never actually couldn’t. This lack of confidence in our ability to think for ourselves seems like the larger problem, a sort of precursor to validation. What does it say if we need a hefty price tag to justify the acquisition of a garment? Does it mean that we still need someone to tell us what we should look like? Or simply speaking, are we back at the top where I just don’t get it? No one said you have to understand fashion to like it. I suppose that’s true of the reverse, too.Spend an extra $40 to customize your GASP Football Jersey
This week bodybuilding clothing company GASP has taken special edition to another level with its new Custom Jersey. Just as you read, the brand is now giving fans the ability to customize their own classic GASP Football Jersey. The design is basically identical to the signature GASP top, available in the same colors black and white, and featuring the same number with “89” on the back and front. The only difference of course is that you can customize it by choosoing what it says on the upper back of the jersey, with 10 characters of your choice. The customization will obviously cost you, in fact to get your 10 or less characters you’re looking at an extra $40 compared to the price of the regular GASP Football Jersey.Only 300 of GASP’s new limited edition sleeveless hoodie If you head on over to GASP’s website right now you’ll be greeted by a countdown clock that’s been running for quite some time now. Fortunately the clock has been counting down to today, or at least later tonight to early tomorrow morning.
The exact time the banner will stop ticking is 2AM Pacific tomorrow morning, which at what time GASP will launch their next limited edition piece. The latest from the bodybuilding clothing company hasn’t been pictured much with the image on the brand’s site showing off the item from just the one angle. In the picture you can see one of GASP’s more popular athletes Johnnie Jackson wearing what looks to be a sleeveless zipper hoodie. The product appears to feature the brand’s logo from left to right across the front, and come with a bit or orange around the collar. As interesting as the piece is based on what we can see, what makes it worth counting down to is its limited edition availability. In total GASP have only produced 300 of the hoodies, each individually numbered. The brand is also saying the item will only be available at select resellers not making any mention about the product being to their own website. If that is the case fans will need to bookmark GASP’s stores page and start their hunt before all 300 hoodies sell out.
Individually numbered limited edition Gasp hoodie due to go on sale in 6 days One of bodybuilding’s most popular clothing companies Gasp, are more than familiar with limited edition products and releases. We’ve seen them make a number of their items so much more special in the past, which they have done so once again for another piece just in time for Christmas. Gasp have put together a limited edition hoodie, revealing it almost to the day of the orange one they dropped last year. The 2014 product is black in color with the brand’s usual print and rugged seems, as well as a little something special on the left chest. Again like last year’s limited edition item, Gasp have only produced 500 of their latest, each individually numbered with 001 owned by one of the brand’s star athletes Branch Warren. While we did say that it’s almost to the day that this one has popped up, it is going to be even closer when the product actually launches, as it is not due to go on sale until December 15th.
Gasp are saying the limited edition hoodie will only be available at select resellers, suggesting fans check with their local stockists soon after the piece is released if they’re interested.GASP go limited edition for three colors, LTD Production Symbol T-Back now available GASP, one of bodybuilding’s more premium clothing brands, isn’t a stranger to limited edition products. We have seen special prints and pieces from the company on more than one occasion, with their latest release being another example. GASP have put together a limited run of their new Symbol T-Back tank, a two color top featuring a stylized version the brand’s logo on the front and symbol logo on the back. As mentioned the T-Back has been painted using a two color palette, with three combinations to choose from. Black with orange highlights, white with gray, and khaki green with what looks to be a darker green or brown. While GASP have not confirmed any kind of number for how many T-Backs have been produced.
They are warning fans that once the item is gone that is it, with stock already now available for purchase direct from the brand.Limited edition hoodie with just 500 produced, GASP flame zipper now available for 170 bucks While it may be a little too late for Christmas, GASP’s latest clothing product would most definitely please any gym rat for any other occasion. The brand’s most recent release is a limited edition orange zipper hoodie. The item features GASP’s signature seam style, with logos and labels down each arm, available in one color orange, or as it’s officially titled flame. If you are wondering just what makes the hoodie limited edition, the clothing company have only produced a total of 500 units of the piece, with each one featuring a patch on the front displaying it’s individual number. To get a hold of the product GASP are directing fans to Fit Gear Republic, a stockist of theirs as well as Better Bodies. Who are currently listing the item for $169 in the same amount of sizes as the hoodie has colors, with just the one medium.
Limited edition ribbed tanks available for a short time, Gasp Inc. temporarily add to their quality clothing line Gasp Inc. is one of the industry’s most reputable clothing companies. The bodybuilding fashion brand produce a number of items going from long sleeves and tees, to pants and shorts. The latest addition comes to their tanks category, and has only been produced in limited numbers. Gasp’s new Ribbed Tanks come in three colors, blank and metal, antracite melange and flame, and chilli red and black. With sizes going all the way from small to XX-large. Printed on the front is the brand’s logo, and on the back the same iconic graphic along with a sewn on patch below the neck. As for their price, the cost of any one of the three variants is $39.90. Which is actually very reasonable considering their limited availability.High end clothing brand introduces shaker, GASP keep it simple with no compartments There are only a few bodybuilding clothing companies on the market.
