The students were briefed to come up with a new take on Welsh costume for window displays in the Oxfam Boutique on St Mary’s Street in Cardiff that reflect the country’s heritage and symbolise St David’s Day. “The students then researched Welsh national dress for their reinterpretation,” Course Co-ordinator for BTEC Extended Diploma in Fashion & Clothing Kerry Cameron said. “All the garments were made from recycled materials to reflect ethical fashion, which links in with Oxfam’s ethos. The students have done really well.” This is the second year that Fashion students have taken over window displays at the Oxfam Boutique, following an extremely successful and popular display students designed and set up in 2013.
