Aaliya Taylor, left, was about to fight another girl when a cop arrived and put a halt to the proceedings in a unique fashion...
The officer, who saw the teen dancing the Nae Nae, said she could do better, so the girl challenged her to a dance-off... The teen and the cop to head to head - or rather, knee to knee - during the dance, which lasted about a minute The officer valiantly kept pace as the girl, dressed more appropriately for a dance-off, did the popular 'step'The officer brought her thing as the teen, a senior at Ballou High School, got down. Slightly hampered by her police gear she kept up with the teen, dressed in black jeans, cropped shirt, and red sneakers, who gyrated effortlessly to the Nae Nae dance, which involves crooking the legs sideways, squatting, and bouncing back and forth. The Nae Nae is usually combined with The Whip dance, which involves putting the arms out straight and twisting them. The officer seemed to be doing a little bit more of a freestyle dance, but she admirably kept pace with the teen nonetheless.'I was in shock,' the teen told the outlet about the cop deciding to join her in her dance.
Reportedly, the officer and the teen decided it was a tie, but the girl walked off triumphantly when it was over Teen Aaliya Taylor, pictured left and right above, was 'shocked' that the cop joined her in the dance-off, and said she told her 'We need more cops like you'She added that she is usually wary of police, but the fun dance-off has changed her mind about them.'She gave me a hug and she was like, 'What's your name?' and she was smiling. I was like, 'Oh yeah, we need more cops like you,' she said. The teen posted the video to Facebook, where it has received over 600,000 views so far.The teen wrote, 'So basically I was trynna get to this girl but the police told me to go home so we made this deal if i win u leave but if u win I step andddddd she step.'Reportedly, the teen and the officer declared the dance-off a tie.Mayor Muriel Bowser apparently approved of the light-hearted interaction, tweeting 'DC has innovative ways to keep our community #saferstrongerDC, A @dcpolicedept officer even did the Nae Nae.'
