dirk hoodie guy In the summer of 2014, Shaun ‘Bomber’ Crowson and Simon Hardy covered 96 miles in a bid to raise money and awareness for the Falcon Centre.

I, myself, had never heard of the work they did and how much they relied on community support. 2015 and 2016 saw the introduction of Beacon 24.

rigby hoodieOn both occasions, we met many people associated with the charity and a bond was formed between us Pops and the Falcon support team. Last week when thinking about how to end our last running session of the year, I thought about a club ‘Secret Santa’, but then my mind went to thoughts of the Falcon Centre. Rather than give to each other, it was a far greater thing to give to those who rely on the help.So I put out a post asking for donations such as food, clothing, toiletries, crackers, etc. and your response was nothing short of outstanding. I was genuinely overwhelmed by the thoughtful and generous donations.

Today, Lee and I, took over your much needed offerings, and their team were extremely grateful.Christmas is a time for giving, sharing and being thankful for what we have.Because of your caring nature, this Christmas, I shall be thankful to call you my club mates. You really are amazing people. Thank you,Darryl (a very proud captain)You can still donate goods or money to the Falcon Centre by clicking here Darryl Hughes, in addition to running regular club nights and a pretty quick 5k, is also a pretty good film maker! Thanks Darryl great video, hopefully brings back memories for many! Primary School County Championships Saturday March 25th 2017 >Please Note – all information related to this event is on the dedicated web site and in this Acrobat file<< MANAGER PACKS Now Available – Please click here to view / download packs SELECTION FOR THE RACES Please note as ever that the selection of runners for this final is through the school areas and not through the cross country league.

If you are having difficulty finding information please contact your school at once. However, as before, there will be runners whose school have not been able to attend the trials and subsequently have not had the chance to qualify through for their county squad. If this is the case then please contact us. If you able to reasonably prove that your child would have qualified for their area then I will allow them to run as an individual. The morning races will be Leicestershire and Rutland year 3-4 runners competing in their age groups. In the afternoon the Leicestershire and Rutland championships will be combined with the national finals. Once again we are expecting great races with around 200 competitors in each race. The full schedule is in the enclosed PDF file. The whole of our County and National events will be broadcast live across the web. You can also watch the event afterwards on the specific event page, where the live video and all on demand content will be stored.
