Crafted by user skyrimfox, the hoodie was made using anti-pill fleece. The design has an extended hood based on Link’s hat, and a Hylian Shield sewn on the back. The item ships worldwide from Indiana, United States. The hoodie comes in green, blue, red and shadow varieties. skyrimfox’s Etsy shop also hosts other video game-inspired designs, including an Assassin’s Creed hoodie. The creator of the hoodie says: “I grew up playing The Legend of Zelda as a kid and I will always loved it [sic]. I especially love wearing this one around, I feel like I’m Link and all I would need is the master sword!”

The designs are envisioned for cosplayers who want comfort and warmth. All the hoodies have a “loose” fit to them. Popular items for legend of zelda As one of the most iconic gaming characters of all time, Link from The Legend of Zelda is one of the few mascots that has changed his look substantially with every new installment. While hair colors have altered and physical appearances vary, one piece of content that has always been present is the hero’s green tunic. There’s a lot of lore surrounding the ensemble as well, making it a staple of the series that fans the world over have familiarized themselves with. With the imminent arrival of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, however, that may no longer be the case. Speaking to Nintendo’s legendary game developer Shigeru Miyamoto (the creator of Zelda, Mario, and Donkey Kong) during E3 2016, we inquired about the status of Link’s iconic green tunic. According to Miyamoto, he’s unsure if the outfit will appear in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – as it would deter players from wearing the other outfits featured in-game.

“I don’t know, but there are just a lot of clothes in this game. So maybe if we had green clothes people would want to wear it all the time. And yeah, with the variety of clothes you get, that this game offers, you can really customize your character. And I can’t really divulge too much more than this.” While such a statement would make for a major departure from the norms of the series, the tone in which this was delivered made it seem like Miyamoto may have been teasing the garb rather than debunking it. Given that the Master Sword is set to make its return, as teased in Breath of the Wild‘s E3 2016 trailer, there’s a strong chance that some tried and true items will be making an appearance. Given the climate-related challenges present in the newest game, it makes sense that players would have to change their attire – this very concept was reinforced within Ocarina of Time, after all. With that said, the gear that is discovered and equipped has a larger role this time around, and throwing in the green tunic right from the get-go would likely discourage the use of the clothing customization element that Nintendo and Monolith Soft have worked so hard to implement into the new Zelda.
