Current Media Release | This Month's Media Releases As previously released - On October 26, 2014 at approximately 2:40 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a hit and run motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Marbury Road and Mapleglen Drive. The investigation revealed that the occupants of two vehicles became involved in dispute, possibly due to manner of driving.

At one point, the occupants of a black, Infiniti G35 stopped in the area and a 31 year-old male passenger exited the vehicle in attempt to speak with the other driver. The driver of the suspect vehicle, still in the area, suddenly drove in the direction of the male passenger, now out in the roadway, striking him while travelling at a high rate of speed. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries. Upon arrival, four victims were located and transported to hospital.  All were listed in stable condition. A suspect was arrested at the scene and the investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit. Investigation revealed that the accused had been socializing within one of the suites when he was asked to leave.  The accused became upset and proceeded to stab three victims, two females, 39 & 42 years of age, along with a 34-year-old male, all in the upper body.  He was subdued by the fourth victim, a 23-year-old security guard who sustained upper body injuries as well. He was detained in custody. The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 17-year-old female, Corrina MONKMAN. MONKMAN was last seen on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in the Fort Rouge area of Winnipeg. MONKMAN is described as: Aboriginal, 5’7" tall, approximately 185 pounds with long black hair. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, black sweat pants, an orange hoodie and red and white runners. Police are concerned for MONKMAN’S wellbeing. Anyone with information regarding MONKMAN’S whereabouts is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250. As previously released, on April 1, 2014 shortly after 1:30 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to a residence within the 100 block of Walnut Street for reports of shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers located property damage consistent with a firearm being discharged. There were no reported injuries.

This investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit who, with the assistance of the Forensic Services Unit, were able to link two suspects to the incident. On October 20th officers located and arrested one of the suspects without incident. Tamim AHMADZAI 19 years of Winnipeg was charged with numerous firearms related offences for his alleged involvement and subsequently detained in custody. On November 27th the second suspect was arrested. Hamed SHAHNAWAZ 25 years of Brampton, Ontario has been charged with numerous firearms related offences for his alleged involvement and was detained in custody. On November 28, 2014 shortly after 2:30 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 800 block of Main Street for the report of a stabbing.All are listed in stable condition. One male is currently in custody and the investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit. No further information is available at this time.
