hoodie snuggie

Sweaters and SweatshirtsIs the Sleep Hoodie the New Snuggie?Does anybody really need a inflatable sleep hoodie? According to the clothing brand Hypnos, everyone does. For just $49 you can order The Standard Hypnos pullover on the brand's Kickstarter page. It boasts itself as a "revolutionary" hoodie with a little inflatable pillow stuck in the hood, allowing anyone you to take comfortable naps well, anywhere (in the airport, on a train, at work, or while your Tinder date is in line for the ladies room). Hypnos founder, Josh Woodle, hopes to solve people's lack of sleep with wearable bedding. His goal: to help us all catch those vital extra Zs, making us kinder, more aware, and less likely to mess up our lives. We can't argue that sleeping more is important and that getting enough rest makes us all happier, healthier, and more productive. But shouldn't people get that sleep the old fashioned way, in bed (and in private)? Won't these sleep hoodies make everyday life a little too casual, more sloth-like?
Imagine that during your daily commute, instead of one guy falling asleep on your shoulder every few days, the train is full of sleeping hoodie wearing citizens. Imagine all the stops missed, all the snoring. Never before has the world of men's fashion been so accepting of loungewear. And of course this trend has included many things we at GQ accept and yes even endorse, like certain ways of wearing certain sweatpants. But when it comes to carrying your pillow around with you all day, no matter how inflatable, we have to put our foot down. Some things, like a Snuggie, are better left alone. How Can You Not Love This Snuggie-esque HoodiePillow Even a Little?7/02/12 5:00pm Sometimes innovations come around that fundamentally change society. The HoodiePillow is not one of those things. But I do like the idea of a pillow with a built-in eye mask. And there's something fun about this arguably goofy little product, kinda like the snuggie. Unfortunately, some people do not feel the same way because they hate life or something.
Casey and myself are the only ones who enjoy life's frivolities, apparently. Check out the Gizmodo chat transcript for yourself. Why the fuck have I never thought of this. DIY Snuggie with a plot twist. I bet you didn't think the hoodie could be improved upon, but some ingenious designers from New Jersey would beg to differ. They've reinvented the classic comfort item and have added something that it's been missing for years.
It's everything that it sounds like and nothing more. It's a hood attached to a pillowcase, and just like the picnic pants before it, it's the fashion statement you never knew you wanted to make. As their website says, it offers the ultimate in cocoonification. Taking an awkward nap never looked so good. The pillow and the hood are made of sweatshirt material and it comes in a bunch of colors, making it the perfect gift for anyone who would find it as hilarious as I do. Not once have I experienced the need for a hood on a pillow, I wouldn't say my ears are prone to chilliness, but I will concede that this invention might be great for traveling or for college kids with roommates. The hood gently shields light and sound, so it has that going for it. And, of course, as Americans get lazier and lazier, the HoodiePillow will likely become part of the national lexicon much like the Snuggie, the Wrap-a-Nap, and the Forever Lazy. If it's one thing we all love, it's turning bed accoutrement into pieces of wearable clothing.
