That excludes questions about how much each of us weighs (classified information, thank you!), of course. Just about everything to do with the products, though, is fair game. Some common questions we get have to do with the branded shirts we offer. While Gildan is actually very well known in the US, it’s not as popular here just yet. Gildan shirts in the Philippines are still relatively sparse. At least, they are compared to ones from other brands (Hanes, for example). Basically, this is the gist of the questions we’ve received:

Why are Gildan shirts more expensive than the other (unbranded) type you offer? If I pay the premium for a Gildan shirt from you, am I paying that extra cash just for the brand? Does using Gildan make a difference to the finished (printed) product? We can answer all of these in order. First, they’re more expensive because they’re of a higher quality. The shirts we offer from Gildan are manufactured in a different way from your average unbranded shirt. While our unbranded shirts are undoubtedly of good quality for their price, there’s still that qualifier: for their price. As a company for personalized shirt printing in the Philippines, we try to offer products at different price points to meet the needs of the local market. Items at lower price points will naturally be worth a little less (quality-wise) because they cost a little less (price-wise).syiria hoodie mecca So our unbranded shirts give you durability and comfort at a bargain, yes. curtin hoodiesBut we’ll be the first to say that they still can’t deliver the same strength and softness as the Gildans. lbc hoodiesTo do that, they’d have to be manufactured in a way that costs more money.

That means they would also cost more money. Then they would just end up costing the same (if not more than) the Gildans. Gildan shirts actually deliver bargain value at their price point. It’s only in comparison to our far cheaper unbranded ones that they seem costly. Most of our Gildans are not only made of preshrunk 100% cotton, for instance, but are also ring-spun. 100% cotton is very soft—a preferred fabric for a lot of luxury apparel, in fact. Ring-spun cotton, in particular, has an unbelievably soft “hand” (a term used in the apparel printing industry for “feel”). Despite that, it also boasts greater durability than regular cotton. This is particularly important for clothing as it means the shirt will hold up better under years of repeated washes. Many clothes lose their shape, thin out, or just disintegrate after a few months. Ring-spun cotton tends to last and last. As for our Gildan hoodies, they’re made of no less than air-jet yarn. Air-jetting is a method of producing yarn that yields superior results.

The resultant yarn and fabrics made from it have a very soft hand, very little of the usual yarn “hairiness” (the messy, fuzzy look some yarns get from fibers sticking out), and very little shrinkage in the wash. Even more importantly, they last longer and are less abrasive to the skin. Another plus to Gildans is that we’ve found them to have superior color-fastness.  That’s a big plus when you’re a printing company in the Philippines.  Our customers (such as SeriousMD) will be wearing their shirts in a sunlight-saturated environment, as well as a humid one that necessitates regular washing.  Both are things that wreak havoc on most fabric colors, fading them out in no time. It’s a quality especially important for those of our clients who come up with the designs for their shirts themselves.  When you’re designing your own t-shirt, you usually craft everything with a specific canvas in mind.  While that may mean white for some, it could mean a different color for others. 

And choosing particular print colors to go with a specific shirt color only to have the latter fade quickly… Well, it would be pretty irritating, to say the least. When customers ask which of our shirts we’d recommend more and we pick the Gildans, it’s not because we make a higher profit on them.  Remember: the Gildan shirts also cost us more to buy, after all.  Rather, what we’re thinking of is quality. If a customer can afford to pay for that little bit more and the situation calls for it, we’d easily recommend the better-quality product.  When you’re offering T-shirt printing in the Philippines, it’s all too easy to take the stance that all the market cares about is saving money.  But even if we were to make that argument, it could just as easily be said that the Gildans will save our clients more money in the long run. Their durability means they can be worn for more years than less hardy shirts.  They’re far more likely to be met with approval from those wearing the shirts (and that means fewer extra favors later in an attempt to make up for them).
