The lining across the toe box (just under the laces) is darker on the real pair that it is on the fake. Not only this but it also appears to be closer to the green foam block on the midsole.Both shoes are the same size but the fake pair looks to be a whole size bigger, still, it’s a tough one to tell.2. Again, it’s a tough one, the two trainers are almost identical, but on the fake pair, there appears to be a green square next to the three-stripe sidewall branding – something you wouldn’t expect to see on camo.

Rather than coming up over the toe box as it does on the real NMD, it stops short at the end of the toe box.6. I genuinely sat there for a good few minutes before I got close to an answer on this one. My first thought was that it had something to do with the BAPE x adidas NMD style code. However look closely at the material again, the colour is quite different on the real pair and you will also notice a different, slightly taller font being used.Remember though, no two fakes are made alike and they’re getting better and better at replicating them.

By no means should you take this article as the gospel, this is merely an aid to help you spot the differences.There’s a few things that you can do to protect yourself from shelling out a fortune on a pair of fakes though:Get the seller to send you loads of pictures of the shoe from different angles, along with an invoice.Check the box to make sure the sticker is in the right place and it is of good qualityAsk the seller as many questions as you need to until you feel comfortable parting with your cash.Put the pictures of the shoe into sneaker groups and ask for a legit checkNever part with cash unless you know 100% that the shoes are authentic.Check the style code against one on the box and where possible, buy directly from the retailerSmell them! It sounds weird but sneakerheads swear by this due to the fact that you can almost always tell a fake apart because it doesn’t have that fresh sneaker scent.Check that the seller is legit by checking feedback on sites like eBayPrice. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is.
