Archeologists of the History Institute of the DPRK Academy of Social Sciences in North Korea claim they have found the "lair of the unicorn rode by King Tongmyong." The unicorn that their good old King used to ride back in the day.* According to the official Korean News, King Tongmyong was the founder of the Koguryo Kingdom (277BC to 668AD). The archeologists say the unicorn's lair "is located 200 meters from the Yongmyong Temple in Moran Hill in Pyongyang City. A rectangular rock carved with [the] words Unicorn Lair stands in front of the lair. The carved words are believed to date back to the period of Koryo Kingdom (918-1392)."According to Jo Hui Sung, director of the History Institute: Korea's history books deal with the unicorn, considered to be ridden by King Tongmyong, and its lair. The Sogyong (Pyongyang) chapter of the old book 'Koryo History' (geographical book), said: Ulmil Pavilion is on the top of Mt. Kumsu, with Yongmyong Temple, one of Pyongyang's eight scenic spots, beneath it.
The temple served as a relief palace for King Tongmyong, in which there is the lair of his unicorn. The old book 'Sinjungdonggukyojisungnam' (Revised Handbook of Korean Geography) complied in the 16th century wrote that there is a lair west of Pubyok Pavilion in Mt. Kumsu. There you have it. Apparently, North Korean's scientists are as truthful and trustworthy as the country's dictators and political establishment. All sounds perfectly reasonable to me.It seems that North Korea thinks this is great news because it "proves that Pyongyang was [the] capital city of Ancient Korea as well as [the] Koguryo Kingdom." The next thing they will claim is the discovery of a secret door to the Kingdom of Hyrule. Then they will claim their right to own Japan. * That in the photo is not their old king, but their latest supreme leader and sexiest man in the world. Not content with images of President Obama in a ball of fire, North Korea's propaganda arm decided to spice up its latest YouTube video the only way it knows how: with video games.
In the above clip, shoved out by North Korean propaganda branch Uriminzokkiri, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion theme plays over fiery rhetoric."Words spoken by the United States, a country that uses the law of jungle as the law of survival for fitness, is meaningless," the video's text reads (via Global Dispatch). "As a result, North Korea's high level nuclear test conducted against American imperialist invaders is a nuclear deterrent that protects our sovereignty."Earlier this month, Uriminzokkiri produced another propaganda video, which, Kotaku pointed out, used images from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Activision had YouTube take down the video over an obvious copyright claim, North Korea Tech reports. Don't be surprised if the same fate awaits the YouTube version of this clip. Seems like there's someone at Uriminzokkiri, who not only really hates America, but really loves American video games. Just another example of video games bringing people together, and brain-washing regimes tearing them apart.
