climaheat hoodie

Since arriving on the market a few years ago Adidas’ new Outdoor line, Terrex, has been making a big impact with impeccably cut, well-fitting jackets made from cutting edge materials.  The Terrex Climaheat Agravic Down Hoodie is no exception, a light-weight and warm down jacket that feels great to wear.  I received the Hoodie last fall and have spent about a year testing it out in all kinds of conditions from summer to winter, ice climbing to mountaineering and even on the patio during a cool night or two.  I found that while I really like wearing the hoodie just about everywhere I have to be a bit careful when it’s wet out. Designed as a light mid or outer layer the Agravic Down Hoodie is amazingly light given how warm the jacket is.  To achieve this Adidas really focused on light and warm in everything from the design to the fit and the materials chosen when developing it.  The thin interior and outer material is Pertex Quantum® GL, a soft feeling fabric that’s very lightweight and strong while allowing the down to loft well.
The Pertex used on the jacket is really quite thin, see-through even, giving it a very delicate feel.  However, it’s proven to be very resilient as well having stood up to skiing through trees, bush-wacking into ice climbs and so on. The jacket would often get snagged on numerous trees, rocks and bushes during these trips but never showed any sign of damage.  I finally managed to put a small hole in the sleeve but it took getting caught on my freshly sharpened ice tools.  Even then the hole was small due to the rip-stop nature of the fabric.  All-in-all the fabric is impressively strong given how thin it is. To keep the Agravic Down Hoodie light and warm the jacket is filled with an unspecified amount of ethically sourced 800 fill down and some great warm air trapping design features.  To stop any drafts or warm air from escaping Adidas utilizes what they call Heat Guards.  Basically they’ve installed a thin stretchy baffle around the wrists and at the neck that serves to stop any cold air (or snow) from getting in.
At the waist a draw string acts as the heat shield and works quite well because of the great fit. Supposedly there are heat seals on every other baffle, basically halving the number of cold stitching lines in the jacket.  However, the review sample that we have is partially see-through and after several close inspections of the garment no one here could find any evidence of such heat seals.  I can only assume that there is a mistake made on the specification information provided online. There are 3 pockets on the Agravic Down Hoodie , two hand pockets and a chest pocket that doubles as a stuff sac for the jacket.  There are no interior pockets for gloves, water, etc. A unique design feature found on this jacket are stretchy softshell fabric patches under the arms.  These small patches enable that area of the jacket to breath and really allow the arms to stretch and move.  Of course this would make that area colder but as these patches of fabric are covered by the arms most of the the time they work quite well.
This jacket combines well thought out and functional design features with a great fit and a lightweight materials.  The result is an is an amazingly warm garment given how light and packable it is.  However, the fabric is not waterproof which means of course that any wet weather would be a problem.are hoodie buddies washable Pros:      Light, great fit, good mobility, nice feelmen's adidas originals flock hoody Overall: A fantastic, warm and light weight jacket that’s a pleasure to wear.  jmt hoodiesGreat as a mid-layer but limited to dry weather conditions as a top layer.ocelot hoodie@glossierKale and White Bean SoupThe Reset Workoutgws hoodie

I’ve seven children in the sea and seven children on the land. The new adidas Climaheat collection drops tomorrow and I was tasked with road testing its performance somewhere freezing.  I'm never one to back off of a challenge, especially when it means going to the ends of the Earth, literally, to try to withstand the elements.  I'll also never sacrifice gorgeous nature because of a little bit of bad weather (I'm a Northeast girl after all), but nothing quite prepares you for the insane weather machine that is Iceland.  Forget what everyone tells you about the jet stream and how Iceland is actually not super icy, this place is damn near freezing.
Because I'm an athletic overachiever, I booked a trip to the 66 degree North parallel to really see how these pieces hold up in extreme conditions. The first few days were lovely.  We had somewhat mild weather and some great sunshine, but as we drove past the hipster horses with wild hair and saw Katla looming in the distance, the weather began to deteriorate pretty fast.  In Ayurvedic terms, my excess Vata means that I'm super sensitive to cold weather and wind so layer up I did in some of the most high-tech performance gear you can find.  First stop was a run on Reynisfjara beach where the wind whips like fire and rogue waves have been known to take out tourists.   Imagine the earliest settlers of Iceland, Norse warriors coming over to settle this weird volcanic terrain.  They wrapped themselves in fur and got on with it.  The Climaheat hoodie has fibers that are inspired by natural fur to trap heat but also helped keep me dry.  Staying dry is one of the most important things to consider if you're hiking or running somewhere remote in winter.
Wet skin, sweat and cold weather are not a good mix if you're unprepared. Onward we went and left blue sky behind for an ominous cloud that hung over the glacier in the distance.  My main goal was to experience the glacier lagoons and I was tipped off by a friend that the more impressive sight was Diamond Beach.  Giant chunks of glacier break off into the lagoon and then get washed away into the ocean and pushed violently back onto the black sand beach.  It's the most amazing sight too see, honestly.  I thought it would take my breath away until I realized it was so cold that I could actually see my breath.  The weather was the most extreme I've experienced, with freezing rain pelting down while dense clouds and wind bit through the air.  My pants are fleece lined which was incredibly warm and my whole body felt insulated like I was wrapped in a giant blanket.   I challenge you all to get outside this fall/winter and push yourself to fill your lungs with the crisp, cool air of the season.
Let icicles form in your veins and push the limits of what you think it possible for yourself.  Let's not fall victim to the lazy winter routine. Tips on Working Out in Cold WeatherMake sure to have a proper warm up.  Stretching is key in cold weather.  Some kind of cardio warm up and a stretch will prevent muscles from freezing up, literally, leading to injury.Focus on high intensity.  I love doing high intensity workouts in the winter because it really warms the body up and keeps the joints juicy.  Jump squats, high-knees, side-shuffles...all are amazing ways to heat the body up.  If you're into yoga, add a lot more sun salutations into your practice to stay warm throughout. When it comes to the elements you want to have the freedom to strip down then layer back up post-workout.  Look for the details.  Details like extended sleeves with thumbholes, hoods, side-adjusters to keep in heat, all of these things are the tiny details that make or break a comfortable outdoor winter workoutUse the surroundings.
