Their weekly releases of cover songs captured the attention of millions on the internet and eventually caught the eye of their current record label, Islands. Their rise in popularity saw the girls taking more risks. They offered more comical and playful videos on the internet and became bolder in performing original material. Their attempts payed off quite well with their smashing release of “Made In America”. Though six vocalists seems like it could be overwhelming, the sisters truly know how to harness their voices into a coherent network of sound and can precisely playoff each-others qualities. Though the groups inspiration from modern pop music cannot be overlooked, at times their primary source of influence seems to be streamlined from shows like Glee and Pitch Perfect.

The band’s strong-suit lies in their vocal performance and many of their songs feature nothing but that. They have enamored audiences with a cappella renditions of songs like Lorde’s “Royals”, minimal instrument accompaniments as evidenced on their performance of “Let It Go”, and full blown backing tracks that provide the basis for many of their originals. Took my daughter to see these guys last weekend and she was one of a few hundred teen and pre-teen kids in the audience for a fantastic performance. The girls introduced each song with some background and stories which were all perfectly pitched to the audience and the message was a totally positive and affirming for the girls in the audience. I love this band!! Oh yes and so does my daughter!! I Reaallly Have to say that they are a great band. They are very talented and gorgeous. They're songs are so meaningful that when you hear 1 word of it you would cry. i would not be doing this if they werent famous.. what i am trying to say is...
