Speaking before a raft of reporters and journalists she said, according to the Post: 'I want to make use of this press conference to tell everyone that neither my spirit nor my body suffered or sustained any injury because of the kidnap.'I hope the media will understand that as the police are still investigating the case, there's not much detail I can disclose. 'I plead for your understanding. I hope friends from the media will give me some room as I was greatly scared by the kidnapping.'She also thanked her parents for their 'exhaustive running around'.New Hong Kong police commissioner Stephen Lo told the press on Monday: 'We arrested one of the suspects relating to this kidnap case in Lo Wu this morning.' 

Lo Wu is one of Hong Kong's land border checkpoints connecting the city with China. Lo said the search for other suspects had been extended to the mainland. 'At the moment, we are still doing everything we can to look for other culprits. We are having very close co-operation with mainland authorities in order to find the wanted persons,' Lo said, without giving further detail.Television footage showed that officers also descended on rural border town Sha Tau Kok, setting up road blocks. He died in August 1996, leaving his family HK$1 billion ($130million). Ms Law's father is Raymond Law Ka-kui, who is the sixth and sixth and youngest son of Mr Ting-pong.The family remains a significant presence in the management of the company.According to the Hong Kong Standard, Law Ting Pong was a leading textile businessman, who set up the Lawsgroup in 1975 and then its first production facilities in China.In 1987, it was listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange as Laws Fashion Knitters Ltd and n the same year, he created the Bossini brand.Bossini has more than 1,000 stores in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Dominican Republic,Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and India. A police spokesman said there was nothing to add about the arrest when approached by AFP, including whether any ransom money was retrieved. After returning to Chinese rule in 1997, Hong Kong remains a separate law enforcement jurisdiction from the mainland under the 'one country, two systems' mechanism, guaranteeing the city's personal freedom and liberty.
