'I actually thought I was dead,' Ms Beadman said in Nine Network's A Current Affair, which aired on TuesdayDuring his trial, Judge David Kent said the young woman was in constant pain.'[It was] protracted violence in a variety of forms of disablement,' he said.'I shudder to think what would have happened if the police had just left.'At the time of the incident, Galleghan was on parole for assaulting an officer.He had also previously attacked a man with a samurai sword.Galleghan had been on a cocktail of alcohol, Valium and painkillers at the time of the incident.He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to eight years in prison.He will be released in 2021 due to having already served three years in custody.Ms Beadman took to Facebook last month to celebrate his guilty plea.'It was a liberating feeling hearing and seeing this man the defendant Robert James Galleghan stand up and plead guilty... It's finally over I now lay at peace... I thank all the people that have supported me through this,' she said.'Justice has finally been served.'
