Large but slim-profiled, with a wealth of pocket options and even a top pocket that detaches to become a hip-pack, the Osprey Aether 70 will adapt itself to a wide variety of backpacking adventures. The IsoForm™ harness and hipbelt provide an unparalleled range of fit, and Osprey's clever features like J-Panel access, Stow-on-the- Go™ trekking pole attachment and their suspension technology let you concentrate more on what you're doing, and less on what's on your back. The top pocket can be detached and converted into a convenient lumbar pack for quick use on your travels. The 'Stow-on-the-Go' loops allow you to quickly and easily stash your trekking poles out of the way when you're on the move. A spacious backpanel sleeve (with hanger) will easily accomodate a 3-litre or smaller hydration bladder, with slots for your drinking tube at either side of the pack. The bright red internal compression strap lets you bundle your gear down to size, centralising the weight and making your pack more manageable.

I was carrying all of my camping gear, clothes food and water 25kg. First day as you'd expect it was heavy, second day after five minutes you hardly even notice it's there. There's lots of straps and pockets for storage, more than I needed. The idea of the easy stow away pole strings on the shoulder strap was extremely useful when tackling extreme inclines (on all fours) the pockets around the bag are a good size, nice and stretchy too. The air scape back panel meant for letting you back breathe wasn't probably working to potential due to me having a large load and a full hydration bladder.I have it a 4 star rating purely for the lack of airflow onto my back when carrying a full pack, other than that it is a great pack, I'd recommend to anyone wanting a great quality pack with lots of space/storage and expansion. Superb rucksack., 30 October 2011 This rucksack is deceptive. Although it has a 70 litre capacity it can be cinched right down when carrying far less bulky loads. The hip belt is very good, the whole weight of the pack can be supported on the hip-belt, although you wouldn't in practise.
