Knowing where to start is the problem as this review should be for the Swazi/Ray Mears Tahr Anorak, the said Anorak arrived the following day included in the parcel was a free Swazi Tee, another excellent garment. The Tahr is what every outdoor person should have, comfortable, warm and robust. I wore it for the first time two days ago on a day out in the woods with just a shirt underneath, I was hoping for bad weather to really give it a proper test but unfortunately it was just a bright sunny chilly autumn day.
However, it was extremely comfortable to wear even with a pack. I think the real test will come in the New Year on my next trip to the Yukon, a little different from the wilds of Wiltshire. Over the past six months or so I have been upgrading my kit, most of which is about 45 years old a testament to the kit that I was issued whilst serving in the Royal Navy, now past its best it is being retired so this old man can continue to enjoy the great outdoors for a few more years, so the kit has to do the job. icp hoodie hot topicThank you Woodlore for providing such a first class experience in online shopping and top quality products.danskin now hoodie black Patrick Waters29th November, 2016wholesale carhartt sweatshirts
2 of 14   I knew that I would not be disappointed. Although I have not yet tested with the rain, has passed the test with repeated contact with the snow during the night with a homebuilt overnight shelter. The wind was over 50 mph, always giving me good protection. I am very satisfied. Neri Bagnai2nd February, 2015 3 of 14   It's brilliant. I think that's about it, no more words needed. What I can say is that I should have bought it the first time I saw it, instead of wasting my money on another jacket that is nothing compared to this one. fsd hoodieI'll use it for hunting, trekking, mountaineering, long-distance skating and just about everything else. repurposing hoodiesEven my dog likes this anorak.multiple sclerosis hoodies Nicholas Brook7th January, 2015hoodie allen soundcloud
4 of 14   Had this garment for a week and have already put it through some harsh testing here in Alaska. This anorak has gotten a lot of compliments already from people that I've come in contact with, and that's significant since I live and work among cultures who know good cold/wet weather gear. The malleable trim on the hood and the cuffs are my favorite features thus far! I can already tell that the longer I have this, the deeper my appreciation for it will grow. Kalani Parnell19th October, 2014 5 of 14   Thought I would give the Tahr a try and wasn't disappointed. It's well made and goes well with the salopettes. Comfortable from the off and functional. As usual, Swazi give you that little bit of extra room as they anticipate you will wear thick heavy winter clothing to thin summer wear with the Tahr. Again, another plus is that it's almost silent when wearing. Richard Morton17th March, 2014 6 of 14   An all weather/all purpose classic anorak in the wet and windy north scandinavian climate!
Most anoraks come with a lot of add-ons, like fur and fleece. This fashion statement might be nice for urban and daily use, but I do not grab that concept; an anorak is nothing else than a durable outer wind and waterproof shell! And I do not mind paying a bit more for gear that lasts. After all, I won't pile the stuff in my closet. I fell instantly for the Swazi land anoraks, but this Ray Mears model has one feature which makes a crucial difference: It comes with two outer chest pockets instead of one.The contents can be distributed evenly without stretching the fabric and generating an uneven weightload. Even if I can see the idea with integrated pockets of other models, there is a risk to jeopardizing the integrity and tears/leaks due to heavy wear. It arrived as scheduled and I appreciated the downscaled wrapping (sealed plastic bag - not much to discard). Simply a long-lasting and versatile buy. C Schaefer6th January, 2014 7 of 14   I am a keen trout fisherman (boat) and I have been looking for some good protective clothing for a long time.
I started with the Swazi fleece and I was so impressed that I purchased the Swazi AEGIS Ray Mears Tahr Anorak and then the same in the brace and bib overtrousers. Expensive it may be, but the quality is exceptional and the performance in extreme weather is out of this world. I cannot praise this clothing highly enough. Five stars, and top marks from me! Brian J Boyes15th May, 2013 8 of 14   My second Tahr from Woodlore. The new Aegis Tahr seems to be far superior to that of the previous Goretex version. The Tahr has had some serious weather thrown at it and I'm yet to to get a drip of water passed the fabric! Very impressed with the breathability and warmth, also the new fabric seems to be alot stronger and more durable. My faith in Swazi has been rekindled once more. Btw, if you're normally a XL then get an XL, don't pay attention to the chest sizes, remember you will be wearing other garments underneath in winter, so choose well. Bradley White27th March, 2013 9 of 14   Fantastic product.
The Tahr is a high-quality hard wearing waterproof coat with good fit, freedom of movement, and keeps me dry in the worst of weather. I can really feel the quality of this garment every time I put it on. Swazi pays a lot of attention to ergonomics and small details. The extra breast pocket is very handy when hiking, hunting, canoeing, or any activity in the wild. I look forward to many years of use with this great Swazi garment. I have used other Gore-Tex jackets and the Tahr outperforms them all with the AEGIS watershield. It is worth the money. Nicholas T.26th March, 2013 10 of 14   The first thing I noticed when it arrived was the fantastic feel and quality of the jacket!! Like most blokes I am a bit of a gear freak, so when I saw this I was like ...oh yes. The outer has a soft feel, whilst the inner is similar to that of a gore-tex jacket. The AEGIS material nicely beads the water/snow and cuts out the wind no bother. I have had this for a few weeks now in the North east of Scotland where we have really strong icy cold winds (and snow recently) but I have to say this thing feels bombproof.
